Board of Directors Job Descriptions
President:
Presides at monthly league meetings; assumes full responsibility for the operation of the league; and works as a liason between the league and Little League International.
Vice President:
Presides in the absence of the president; coordinates efforts of other officers and members;
Secretary:
Responsible for maintaining records, correspondence, minutes of meetings, and related affairs of the organization.
Treasurer:
Responsible for the financial condition of the league; provides monthly or periodic financial updates to fellow board members; handles, tracks, and records income and expenses.
Player Agent:
Responsible with overseeing all aspects of the management of players of the league including annual tryouts, player selection, and assisting president in checking birth records and elegibility of players.
Safety Officer:
Responsible for the education and the development and implementation of a safety plan; ensures safe playing conditions; coordinates prevention and reporting of injuries.
Umpire-in-Chief:
Serves as coordinator and advises the league president on the league umpire program; responsible for recommending, recruiting, retaining, and scheduling umpires; establishing a league umpire training program consistent with Little League guidelines; coordinating and assisting with conducting umpire clinics.
League Information Officer:
Sets up and manages league's official website, Facebook page, and online registrations; ensures that league news and scores are updated online on a regular basis; collects, posts, and distributes important information on league activities including fundraising and sponsor activities to Little League, the district, the public, league members and the media.
Coaching Coordinator:
Represents coaches/managers in the league; presents a coach/manager training budget to the board, gains the support and funds necessary to implement training program; coordinates mini-clinics; receives and distributes coaching information from Little League International and distributes to all coaches and managers.
Sponsor/Fundraising Coordinator:
Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations; collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities; organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities; coordinates participation in fundraising activities and maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives.
Concession Manager:
Maintains the operation of concession facilities; organizes the purchase of concession products; responsible for the management of the concession sales at league events; schedules volunteers to work the concession booth; collects and reviews concession related offers including coupons, discounts, and bulk-purchasing opportunities; and organizes, tallies and keeps records of sales and purchases.
Uniform Coordinator:
Responsible for ordering and distributing all uniforms for players, coaches and managers, including the spring and fall seasons, and all star teams.
Equipment Coordinator:
Coordinates the purchase of league equiment from purchasing agent; distribute and maintain all equipment required to operate the league.
Field Maintenance Coordinator:
Manage field maintenance budget; maintain fields to playing conditions (pre/post season); order field supplies as needed; coordinate field work parties with managers and league members.
Scheduling /Field Coordinator:
Responsible for scheduling and rescheduling all games and practices on all fields including all pre-season, spring and fall seasons, and all star tournaments.
