Winter Clinics

Indoor winter clinics focused on building confidence, mechanics, and softball fundamentals for East Stroudsburg Softball Little League players.

Why Winter Clinics?

ESSLL winter clinics give players a chance to work on skills in a fun, supportive environment during the off-season. These sessions are designed to help players stay active, build fundamentals, and feel more confident heading into the spring.

Clinics are open to players of various ages and experience levels. Groups are typically organized by age and/or division so instruction can be tailored to where players are in their development.

Focus on Fundamentals Throwing, catching, infield and outfield work, hitting, and baserunning in a controlled setting.
Confidence Building Reps, encouragement, and coaching cues to help players feel ready for spring.
Small-Group Instruction Age- and skill-appropriate drills with opportunities for individual attention.
All Skill Levels Welcome Great for brand-new players and returning players who want to keep working.

Typical Clinic Format

Exact structure may vary by year and facility, but most winter clinics include:

  • Warm-up, stretching, and movement prep
  • Throwing and catching progressions
  • Infield and/or outfield defensive stations
  • Hitting stations (tees, front toss, soft toss, and/or batting practice)
  • Baserunning and game-awareness drills
  • Short competitions or games to end the session on a fun note

Players should bring a glove, helmet (if they have one), bat (optional), athletic shoes (no cleats indoors), and water. Labeling equipment is highly recommended.

Ages & Grouping

Winter clinic sessions are generally grouped by age and/or division to keep instruction focused and safe.

  • Instructional-aged players (younger/newer players) work on core fundamentals and confidence.
  • Minors and Majors players work on more advanced skills, footwork, and game situations.
  • Seniors and older players focus on refinement, strength of throws, and position-specific work.

Exact age breakdowns and time slots are posted with each clinic registration, and may change from year to year based on enrollment and facility availability.

Location & Schedule

Winter clinics are typically held indoors at local gyms or facilities in the East Stroudsburg area. Specific locations, dates, and times will be shared on this page, through email, and on our social media.

  • Clinics are usually scheduled on evenings or weekends during winter months.
  • Players may register for one or more sessions, depending on the format offered that year.
  • Space may be limited; early registration is encouraged.
For the most current winter clinic schedule and availability, please check the registration system or watch for announcements on the ESSLL homepage.

Registration & Cost

Winter clinics are a separate program from the regular spring season. Fees help cover facility rental, equipment, and instructional costs.

  • Registration is completed online through our league’s SportsConnect system.
  • Costs and session lengths may vary from year to year.
  • Some clinics may fill quickly due to space limits.

If clinic costs are a concern for your family, please reach out privately to the league. ESSLL will never allow a girl to miss a season of softball because of finances, and we will do our best to work with families during clinics as well.

What Players Should Bring

  • Glove
  • Bat (if they have one)
  • Batting helmet (if they have one)
  • Athletic clothing appropriate for indoor activity
