We are excited that you are interested in playing softball with East Stroudsburg Softball Little League (ESSLL).
Because we are an official Little League program, there are specific rules that decide which league a player belongs to.
This page explains how the 2025 Regulation II changes work, gives a summary of our league boundary,
and shares how to double check eligibility using the official Little League League Finder tool.
Quick Eligibility Overview
Ages 4 to 7
Starting with the 2025 season, players league age 4 to 7 may register in any Little League program they choose,
including ESSLL, regardless of home or school address.
Ages 8 to 16
For players league age 8 to 16, eligibility is typically based on one of the following:
- Living within the ESSLL league boundary
- Attending a school located within the ESSLL boundary
- Having continuous participation with ESSLL since league age 7
If your situation is unique such as a recent move, previous league, or shared custody,
please reach out. We will gladly help you navigate the Little League eligibility and waiver process.
2025 Eligibility Update: Little League Regulation II
Beginning with the 2025 season, Little League introduced updated Regulation II rules that affect how players
establish their home league.
Players League Age 4 to 7
- Players league age 4, 5, 6, and 7 may register in any Little League program they choose. There is no residency or school address requirement for these ages.
- These players are fully eligible for all league activities, including All Stars and tournament play, with the league they choose.
- To maintain tournament eligibility with that league, players must have continuous and unbroken participation in that same league every year.
Players League Age 8 to 16
- Eligibility for ages 8 to 16 is based on residency, school enrollment, or continuous participation since league age 7.
- Players ages 8 to 16 who do not live or attend school within the boundary of any league must work with the Little League Charter Committee for a participation waiver.
- Players who live within one league’s boundary but wish to play in another must also apply for a Charter Committee waiver.
These changes give younger families more flexibility while still protecting fairness and tournament integrity as players get older.
ESSLL League Boundary Map (Ages 8 to 16)
ESSLL’s league boundary covers the northeastern portion of Monroe County and nearby communities.
This boundary is most important for players league age 8 to 16.
Areas Within the ESSLL Boundary
- Smithfield Township
- Middle Smithfield Township
- Marshalls Creek
- Saw Creek and Tamiment
- Western Bushkill area
- Northeastern portions of East Stroudsburg
The boundary image that may appear on this page is intended as a helpful visual guide.
In the event of any questions, the official Little League League Finder and Little League’s boundary records are the final authority.
Recent statewide redistricting placed ESSLL in Little League District 18. This does not change our mission or regular season experience, but it may affect where certain All Star or tournament games are played.
